The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

SEVENTEEN

++

Snow White

Pride & Prejudice

She requested one candle.  I don't know why.

She seemed pretty happy with her two, all time favorite, movies.  Red velvet cake.  Cute clothes.  Working watches.  Mitch had new batteries put in her watches that had died.  I thought that was sweet. And you'll have to ask her what else.

WE LOVE YOU JOSIE!

Doesn't Justin look a little suspicious?  Like he might be getting ready to launch some food at someone?  Yes, it could/has/would happen.

Can you tell what finger Todd broke?
(hint:  the one that is twice the size as the rest)

Todd seems to require at least one x-ray per year.
Yesterday we got to look at the bones in his R hand.

I didn't get a good picture of how gross it really looks.  I should have snapped a shot when he got home from practice Wednesday night.  At that point the middle finger was laying over on the ring finger.
Oh, I didn't mention how this happened.  Football.  He plays safety and was swatting at a football.
The specialist, Dr Anderson, put it back in place today and taped it up tight so he could still do a few things in practice without a cast.  Thank goodness for that!  Sheesh, heaven forbid we miss practice SO OUR FINGER HEALS CORRECTLY!
Can you tell I'm the mom?

Is she getting old, or am I? **sigh**

(Photo(s) by Geri, the bestest photo taker lady in the West! and my baby sis.
  Check out her site.)

Our Josie turned the big

this past Saturday.

She is now counting down for February 1st, the day she can get her drivers permit.

This was a fun night at mutual.  We had two exchange students in our branch this past school year, and we played some fun games at their good-bye party.
The rules:  1)Get a partner 2)One of you put on a shower cap 3)The other partner covers the shower cap with shaving cream
4)Everyone lines up, shaving cream heads on one side, non caps on the other side, with about 5' between the two lines 5)The non-shower cap partner has a bowl of Cheetos and on the count of three they start to throw the Cheetos into the "hair" of their partner 6)At the end of the time limit (1 minute) you count to see how many Cheetos got stuck in your partner's 'hair'.  7)Who has the most wins
warning:  easiest clean up is to play this outside.

Two of my favorite people.  Jo & her dad.
As usual, Josie couldn't keep a straight face in the straight face picture.

We LOVE you Josie.

just an update
The front steps & walk were poured today.  Pretty soon the rock & columns will be done and then I think other than staining the front door, the exterior will be done...oh, and the garage doors put in.
So close....for the outside anyway.

The back.  Nothing too exciting.  Layne is so excited to be able to start the deck though.  Not being in the middle of this build is driving him nuts.  Lets get the man in his tool belt already!
They ought to get the dirt moved around and the final grading done next week.  Then we can get some lawn planted.
Ummm-has anyone seen a missing plumber?  We lost ours or he got lost.  Not sure.

We have a teenager!

It is official. Layne and I are proud parents of a teenager. YIKES

Today is Josie's birthday. Layne is usually out of town on her birthday. As a matter of fact, he flew home from Japan 13 years ago for a few days so he wouldn't miss her birth. Then he flew back to Japan a few days later. He is always good to call and wish her a good day. Then he asks to speak with me to see what we got her. LOL (laugh out loud)

If you notice, Justin wrapped his gift to her in Christmas paper. There was NO convincing him otherwise.

Here are a few facts about Josie that you may or may not know...

*Her favorite color is PINK.
*She LOVES mac & cheese.
*She is now exactly as tall as her MOM.
*She is starting 8th grade.
*Her FAVORITE animal is a horse.
*She plays the PIANO and the flute.
*SCIENCE is her favorite subject.
*She loves YW and loved girls camp.
*She IS an early riser.

Layne and I are so blessed to have Josie as a daughter. She is fun to be with and a good example to all of us. She can't wait for school to start and I'll miss her when she goes back.

We love you Jo!!!! Now we are off to go swimming!
